Suleyman: "We are staying open-minded about this. Some users may want to retain their ephemeral sessions. Currently, Copilot Vision deletes the data it processes at the end of each session."

Suleyman further explained: "If we decide to introduce memory features, it will require a new privacy and security framework to safely store such data. This content will be rich, capturing not just isolated moments but strings of activity over hours and days."

Why it matters: Microsoft is adopting a privacy-first approach with Copilot Vision, defaulting to session-based data deletion after each interaction. This allows the company to test Vision’s features while developing the secure infrastructure necessary for persistent memory capabilities in early 2025.
